'Mindanao' wins big in MMFF 2019

The movie "Mindanao" was chosen as Best Film in the recently concluded 45th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal on Friday evening, according to a report on GMA News' Saksi.

 

Multi-awarded filmmaker Brillante Mendoza also won the Best Director award for "Mindanao" alongside Judy Ann Santos, who was chosen Best Actress, and Allen Dizon, Best Actor winner.

Allen Dizon won the Best Actor award for his role in the film "Mindanao" during the 45th Metro Manila Film Festival awards night on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. Dizon also received a P100,000 cash prize. Danny Pata

 

Yuna Tangod also won best child performer for her role in the same film.

 

Child actress Yuna Tangod is this year's Best Child Performer at the 45th Metro Manila Film Festival for her performance in the movie "Mindanao". Tangod personally received the award during the ceremony held Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City. Danny Pata

 

The movie "Write About Love" won the Second Best Film plum, Best Screenplay, while Yeng Constantino won Best Supporting Actress and Joem Bascon was chosen as Best Supporting Actor.

The Third Best Film was "Sunod," while "Culion" was given Special Jury For Ensemble award.
