KMJS began 15 years ago. Here’s how it started

“Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” started just 15 years ago. On social media, the esteemed journalist answered 15 questions from netizens about a variety of things, among which was KMJS’ beginnings.

“Bago nagkaroon ng KMJS, meron munang JSR or “Jessica Soho Reports,” Ma’am Jessica began.

It was a late-night show tackling a slew of stories, which Ma’am Jess and her team knew deserved a wider audience.

“Sayang naman yung mga kwento namin, sana mas marami pa ang nakakanuod, hindi lang yung strictly news and public affairs audience,” she continued.

And so they pitched a primetime show to the GMA bosses and “ayun. Yun na ang nagging simula ng KMJS sa primetime.”

Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho would soon dominate TV ratings and true to form, would serve as a bridge of sorts for Jessica Soho  to traverse, from strictly news to Pinoy pop culture. — LA, GMA News
