16 YEARS A KAPUSO

Dion Ignacio renews contract with GMA Network

Do you still remember the first batch of Starstruck in 2003?

Well, Dion Ignacio, who now stars in GMA-7's hot new afternoon series "Magkaagaw," was among the premiere talent show's first batch of "avengers."

The multi-talented actor has so far spent all his 16 years in showbiz as a Kapuso, and he was more than happy to renew his contract with GMA Network on Tuesday.

The very thought of leaving never once crossed his  mind, Dino shared.

"Minsan nga, tinatanong nga ako ng ibang fans, gusto ko bang lumipat? Sabi ko: 'Dito na 'ko.' Dito na 'ko lumaki sa GMA and, 'yung mga tao dito sobrang family na 'yung turing ko sa kanila," Dion told reporters after the signing.

"So, sabi ko: 'Hindi ko na naiisip 'yan, dito ako sa GMA, loyal ako dito'."

Present at the signing were GMA SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, GMA AVP for Alternative Productions Gigi Lara, and GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Daryl Zamora.

Before our eyes, Dion has grown up into a most exceptional actor, who's also a father, musician and businessman.

Nevertheless, the actor said Kapuso viewers can expect to see more of him in the future.

"Kada may work silang binibigay sa akin, talagang binibigay ko 'yung lagpas 100 percent. Thankful ako dahil sa trust nila sa kin," Dion said.

By now you've probably seen some of Dion's powerful acting in many of GMA-7's highly-acclaimed teleseryes including "Mulawin vs. Ravena" and "Victor Magtanggol."

Nowadays you can catch him on GMA Afternoon Prime's new drama series "Magkaagaw," alongside Sunshine Dizon, Sheryl Cruz, Klea Pineda and Jeric Gonzales. — LA, GMA News
