Andres and Atasha Muhlach spend 18th birthday in hospital with mom Charlene

Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach was hospitalized after undergoing emergency surgery as her twins Atasha and Andres turned 18 years old.

Nevertheless, the actress and former beauty queen was very grateful to have her entire family at the hospital to keep her company as she recovered.

In a post on Instagram, Charlene said she went to the hospital for a check-up after experiencing some abdominal pain but tests revealed that she had "appendicitis and needed immediate surgery the same day to remove my appendix to prevent rupture."

Thank you St. Luke’s Q.C. Hospital under the care of our family doctor internist, Dra. Ubungen. I went in for a check up for pain in the right lower abdomen, hip area. My blood test were normal but my CT Scan showed otherwise. I had appendicitis and needed immediate surgery the same day to remove my appendix to prevent rupture. Thank you to my anesthesiologists Dra. Ruiz & my surgeon Dr. Amado for the care and painless surgery who performed a laparoscopic appendectomy.. ♥? Plus, all the kind nurses who took care of me. (Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the Nuuk premiere, which I was so looking forward to watch, I will watch it during the regular screening ????) & thank you to my family for your endless love & for keeping me company in the hospital.. my mom, @agamuhlach & for Andres @aagupy & @atashamuhlach_ to spend their 18th birthday with me there and keep me company ♥? The actress, who expressed her gratitude to her doctors and the hospital staff, also penned a sweet thank you note to her loving family.

"Thank you to my family for your endless love & for keeping me company in the hospital. My mom, (Aga Muhlach) & for Andres  & (Atasha) to spend their 18th birthday with me there and keep me company. I love you all so much," Charlene wrote.

Charlene shared in another post how she couldn't believe that the "loves of her life" were already coming of age.

"I can not believe your 18 now... It’s your turn to fly. Your dad & I will forever be your biggest fans," she said.
