Kapuso star Alden Richards was named the newest Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines celebrity ambassador on Thursday.
“Sobrang honored ako to be part of the RMHC family because I’ve seen what they’ve done and what they continue to do to help children all over the country,” he said at a press conference at McDonald’s McKinley West.
“Excited na ako to encourage more people to help RMHC so we can support more kids,” he added.
Alden also surprised kids from the Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Quirino, Manila with a live reading session.

Alden, who has been with the brand since 2015, will help raise awareness of RMHC’s programs and fund-raising initiatives.
“Ang duties ko talaga dito is gawing public knowledge ‘yong RMHC for the kids especially, for education and for housing,” he said.
He encourages children to read as early as possible.
“Study shows daw na pag ‘yong kids guma-graduate ng first grade and ‘di pa marunong magbasa, that’s the start of the deterioration of interest ng mga bata to finish schooling,” Alden said.
The Kapuso actor also shared he’s been doing live storytelling for quite some time now in other gatherings.
“I always enjoy being with kids. Mahilig ako sa bata,” he said.
RMHC is a global organization that aims to make a difference in the lives of children through programs that support the need for shelter and education. It launched in the Philippines in 1995. — BM, GMA News
