Neri Naig shares 'aswang' encounter while she was pregnant

Neri Naig recently shared her horrifying experience with what could have been an aswang while she was pregnant.

In her vlog on Friday, Neri talk about how she would always open the windows and sliding doors of her house, which her mother criticized saying an aswang could easily come in and prey on Neri and her baby.

Aswang, a creature from Filipino folklore, is said to be attracted to pregnant women and prey on their unborn children.

Neri brushed off her mother's concern, saying she never believed in an aswang.

However, one night when she was seven or eight months pregnant with her baby boy Miggy, she heard this distinct howling sound coming from outside.

"May narinig ako sa veranda namin na owl na boses na may pagka-dove. Eh wala namang dove dito tyaka syempre walang owl," she said.

Although she wanted to go out and check it out, she couldn't do it and stopped herself. Shortly after, she woke up to a loud howling at the back of her room.

She kept telling herself, "Itulog ko na lang. Pray, pray. Hindi ka naniniwala sa mga ganyan. Naniniwala ka kay God."

At exactly 12:15 in the evening, she said that she woke up again to an eerie sound as if steel was being scratched to another.

"Tinawagan ko na mommy ko. Sabi ko dito ka na matulog sa kwarto ko. Binuksan ko lahat ng ilaw," she said.

When  her husband Chito Miranda finally came home, he also heard a scuffling sound on the walls as if someone was crawling quickly and stealthily.

"Narinig ko talaga may nagtitiktik sa window. Ang tagal-tagal niya 'tas ang sakit sakit sa tenga," she added.

The next day, she found so many thorns on the side of her house. Asking people inside the house, they told her that they've actually been hearing the sound for nights now and the ground floor had an unusual cold wind in it that they couldn't go out.

Although Neri admitted that she still doesn't believe in an aswang, what she heard was unexplainable.

"Bigat-bigat ng pakiramdam ko noon," she said. "So maniwala din tayo sa sabi-sabi ng matatanda." —JST, GMA News
