Did Ruffa Gutierrez just clap back at Gretchen Barretto with this cryptic post?

Did Ruffa Gutierrez just clap back at Gretchen Barretto for bringing up the 1994 "take it, take it" film festival incident?

In an Instagram post, the actress and former beauty queen shared a self portrait with a caption saying: "The next time they try to put you down, just remember that confidence is silent but insecurities are loud AF. #HappyLife #HappyGirl #PositiveVibes."

This was after Gretchen threw shade at Ruffa for praising her sister Marjorie Barretto's daughter Julia on Instagram.

A week after the animosity between the Barretto sisters resulted to a scuffle at their father's funeral, Ruffa commented on one of Julia's selfies saying she looked "fresh," adding three heart-eyed emojis.

The comment caught Gretchen's eye.

Not taking it lightly, Gretchen took a screenshot of Gutierrez' comment and shared it in her IG story with a snarky caption.

"Sawsaw pa more, Ruffy! Take it, take it," Gretchen said.

The Barretto appeared to be referencing to the controversy at the Manila Film Festival in 1994.

Gretchen, a presenter, blew the whistle after Viveca Babajee announced that Ruffa won the best actress award when Aiko Melendez's name was on the envelope.

A Senate investigation was conducted on the issue.

Ruffa's mother Annabelle Rama took to Instagram to defend her daughter.

In a deleted IG post, the Gutierrez matriarch said, "Bakit galit ka sa comment ng anak ko, masama bang mag-comment ng positive?"

Now it seems that in her own way, Ruffa is throwing shade back.
