Marjorie breaks silence over alleged issues with Gretchen, Claudine at father’s wake
Marjorie Barretto has spoken up about reports about alleged confrontations with her sisters Gretchen and Claudine at their father’s wake.
On Instagram, Marjorie hit out at what she called lies about her and her family. “Giving false statements to the press, and twisting stories about what really happened in my Father’s wake is by far the most epic one,” she wrote, adding she will come out with the truth once her father is finally laid to rest.
"Because when I speak the truth, my life and my children’s life will be put in danger. My sisters boyfriend is powerful in a very bad way( and I don’t mean Tony Boy) And in speaking the truth I won’t be able to leave his name out."
Marjorie promised everyone that she will reveal the truth about what really happened during the wake but she requested everyone to atleast give her and her family time to grieve for their loss.
Claudine, Gretchen and Marjorie's father, Miguel passed away on Tuesday after weeks being confined in the hospital. Gretchen attended the wake after a long estrangement from Marjorie and other members of the family.
Marjorie made an allusion to this in her post as well.
"We were hoping for that all those 16 days that my Father was fighting for his life in the hospital. It would have been nice if she made her peace in the quiet of my Fathers room. With no cameras. Don’t be fooled by the statements of my sisters, they are leaving out a very important detail of what really caused pain and tension in the wake,” she wrote.
She also asked for forgiveness from President Rodrigo Duterte, whose name was dragged into the feud after he visited the wake on Thursday.
Marjorie’s post follows a cryptic message posted on Claudine’s Instagram. —Kaela Malig/JST, GMA News
