Sheryl Cruz reveals why she's taking on daring projects at 45
After gracing the cover of a sexy magazine for the very first time, Sheryl Cruz is about to take on the role of a cougar.
In the upcoming GMA-7 afternoon prime "Magkaagaw," Sheryl will be doing sexy scenes opposite Jeric Gonzales. Sheryl will play Veron, the original wife of Mario (Alfred Vargas), who will try to have an affair with Jio (Jeric), the husband of Laura's (Sunshine Dizon) daughter Clarisse (Klea Pineda).

At the press conference of "Magkaagaw" on Monday, 45-year-old Sheryl revealed why she chose to break out of her sweet image.
"What prompted me to do it, is because it was actually asked respectfully of me to venture in this kind of project. At isa pa, it was done with class," Sheryl told reporters.
Sheryl said she wasn't in any way forced to do things beyond her limitations.
"Hindi naman nila ako pinilit sa mga bagay-bagay na hindi ko kayang gawin or beyond my limitation," she said.
She said she agreed to pose sexy as AOmnl.com's cover girl because of her "drive as an artist na kailangan laging nagpapakita ng iba't ibang aspeto ng sarili. Instead na nagre-regress, nagpo-progress, nage-evolve."
Meanwhile, Sheryl revealed that she almost rejected her role in "Magkaagaw" because she had an initial fear of doing it.
"I had to think about this character and actually I had to sit on it for a long time. Tinanggihan ko but later on I have to accept it. I said, why not?" she said.
The actress said she got rid of her hesitations and eventually decided to take on the project because of her passion for her job.
"At first medyo siyempre natakot ako eh, nakakatakot for somebody na gagawin ito knowing na 'yong pinagsimulan at 'yong pamilya na kinabibilangan but because I am an actor and I'm passionate about my work, please meet the new Veron Santos.
Sheryl also revealed she had to ask her daughter's approval before doing the daring magazine cover and doing kissing scenes with Jeric.
"Magkaagaw" is set to premiere on GMA-7 on October 21. Other celebrities who will be in the drama series include Klea Pineda, Jeric Gonzales, Sunshine Dizon, Patricia Tumulak, Lovely Abella, Dennis Padilla, Polo Ravales and Isay Alvarez. — LA, GMA News
