Marian Rivera explains her much-maligned statement on traffic
After getting bashed online, Marian Rivera took to Instagram to explain her much-maligned statement on the traffic issue, published on Philstar.com last Friday.
The Kapuso Primetime Queen shared a screenshot of the published article titled "Marian Rivera on traffic issue," which showed the article tagging her as "super rich."
In the article, Marian said there are very many ways to make use of time when in traffic.
"Andaming pwedeng gawin. Mag-cellphone ka, magsulat ka, eh 'di 'yun 'yung 'me' time mo sa sarili mo, 'di ba? So andaming pwedeng gawin mo 'pag traffic," Marian was quoted as saying.
On her Instagram post Monday, Marian explained she was asked about her personal experience when she's stuck in traffic, and so her answer remained personal.
I just wanted to give a light take on my personal experience, but was misinterpreted."
According to Marian, she didn't mean for her answer to come out as suggested solution to the national issue.
Marian said if the news website were only responsible with their headline and the editing of the original video, she wouldn't have been taken out of context.
But no matter: the Kapuso actress is taking full responsibility of her answer and is sending out her apologies to anyone who was offended by her answer.
Marian promised to be careful with answering such questions hoping that the media would do the same when it comes to reporting.
Marian said she is aware of how much Filipinos are suffering from traffic noting that every minute wasted on the road would've been a quality time spent with loved ones.
Before she ended her post, Marian had a disclaimer saying she is not "super rich" and what she has now is something she worked hard for.
"PS. Hindi po ako super rich, gaya ng sabi ng Philstar.com Maykaya, opo, dahil pinaghirapan ko po yun," she said.
