"GMA is, I can say, my second home," Ruru said after the signing.
"This is my family, and I am very thankful na grabe 'yung tiwala na binigay sakin ng network dahil, from the very start of my career, sila na 'yung unang naniwala," he added.
In the six years since taking a shot at GMA talent search "Protégé" in 2012, Ruru has grown to become one of GMA's most notable homegrown artists.
Ruru recalled, "I was so thin, wala ako talent at all — I don't know how to sing, I don't even know how to dance or to act."
"Pero nag-trust pa rin sila sa akin and, siguro, bilang ganti na rin sa kanila, sa tiwala na binibigay nila sa akin, every time na may ginagawa akong project talagang ginagawa ko everything and I am very passionate about this craft," he added.
According to the actor, landing the legendary role of Ybarro in 2016's Encantadia was, by far, one of the most challenging and unforgettable milestones of his career.
His performance in the hit TV series significantly elevated him in the acting industry, winning Best Drama Actor in the PMPC Star Awards for Television, before snagging another PMPC award in 2018 for the Best Single Performance by an Actor for his dramatic work on "Magpakailanman."
"At first, di-noubt ako ng maraming tao...walang naniniwala sakin na kaya ko 'tong gawin or kaya kong ma-pull off 'yung role," he said. "Pero dahil po doon, nanalo po ako ng Best Actor award, so sobra pong thankful na ipinagkatiwala po sakin 'yung role."
