'I almost gave up': Fil-Am actor Jacob Batalon shares journey before scoring role in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

Fil-Am actor Jacob Batalon said the moment he learned that he got the role of Ned Leeds in the blockbuster superhero movie “Spider-Man: Far From Home" was the moment that changed his life.

"It was overwhelming, to say the least. I had gone through the whole process of waiting, auditioning. I mean, at one point, I almost gave up," the actor told GMA's Luan Dy in an interview aired on Unang Hirit.

"I was like 'wow, this is it. This is the closest I'll ever get to something.' And when it happened, it was just a shock, you know?" he added.

"It was honestly the moment my life had changed, really."

The Hollywood actor, who reprised his role as best friend to Tom Holland's Peter Parker in the sequel "Spider-Man: Far From Home," stopped by the GMA Network Center as he was doing press in the Philippines.

During his meet-and-greet at the Kapuso HQ, he shared some advice for local talents who are aspiring to have a shot at Hollywood.

Jacob also expressed gratitude for the Filipinos who supported him and his work.

"Thank you all so much. Salamat po. I really love you all so much. Without you all, I wouldn't be here," he said. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
