Alden Richards receives the Asian Star Prize at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2019

Another blessing comes Alden Richards’ way.

The Kapuso celebrity was honored with the Asian Star Prize at the awards ceremony of the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards Wednesday night.

In a handsome navy blue suit, Alden walked the red carpet of the Grand Peace Hall of Kyunghee University.

In his speech, Alden said it was an honor to receive the award that recognizes Asian talent widely beloved by Korean audiences.

"As a Filipino, I am very humbled and grateful to be recognized in the international scene, along with so many amazing and talented artists here tonight," he began.

"This award is extra special because it comes at a time when we are celebrating 70 years of friendship between the Philippines and South Korea."

After thanking the Seoul Drama Awards Committee and the Korean Broadcasters Association, Alden noted an actor's job: "It’s always our hope to make people happy and inspire them with our passion. Thank you."

He will continue inspiring TV audiences with his return to primetime with "The Gift."

The Seoul International Drama Awards is a yearly festival that brings together all professionals in the field of TV drama production and media industry and global audiences who enjoy television dramas.

This is Alden Richards' second international award. In 2018, the actor received the New York Festivals silver medal for "Alaala." — LA, GMA News
