‘Blame it on the guy’: Public officials weigh in on Julia, Bea, Gerald issue

The guy is always the one to blame when two women end up fighting over him.

This is how Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon weighed on the apparent conflict between actresses Julia Barretto, who is reportedly dating actor Gerald Anderson, and Anderson's girlfriend, Bea Alonzo.

"If there are two women involved and [there is] one man, it is always the guy's fault," Guanzon, a known advocate of women, said.

Alonzo earlier hinted that there is something wrong in her relationship with Anderson when she talked about someone making a mistake twice already in an Instagram post.

Likewise, Alonzo liked Instagram posts of fans who claimed that Anderson is cheating on Alonzo with Barretto, as evidenced by photos of Anderson and Barretto together at a party.

The public largely vented their ire on Anderson and Barretto for the apparent betrayal, prompting Barretto to blame Alonzo for the flak she got.

Even Supreme Court Justice Marvic Leonen could not help but chime in on the controversy, asking the ladies if Anderson was worth the trouble.

Senator Nancy Binay then offered an answer, saying Anderson is not worth it. She included #KalmaLangGirls and #MoveOn in her tweet.

Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon, for his part, said he was already contemplating on seeking a congressional inquiry in aid of legislation since Leonen was already invested on the issue anyway.

Anderson and Barretto did not deny that they are dating, although Anderson cleared Barretto of liability over his supposed break up with Alonzo.

Alonzo denied that she and Anderson already broke up, saying that Anderson just stopped talking to her.

Anderson confirmed that he suddenly stopped communicating with Alonzo since they were always fighting. — MDM, GMA News
