Mike Enriquez, Jessica Soho win in De La Salle Dasmariñas' Animo Media Choice Awards

Kapuso pillars Mike Enriquez and Jessica Soho were honored on Saturday at the Animo Media Choice Awards of the De La Salle Dasmariñas Alumni Association.

Enriquez was named Best Male News Anchor on AM radio (for Super Radyo dzBB) and Best Male News Anchor on Television (for 24 Oras).

Soho, meanwhile, was voted as Best Female News Anchor on Television (for State of the Nation).

The winners won in an online voting among alumni held from March 18 to May 31 this year.

There were 10 categories and 93 nominees, according to the school's website.

The awarding ceremony was held during the alumni homecoming in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

Enriquez and Soho were not able to personally receive their awards, but they were represented by Super Radyo dzBB senior correspondent and anchorman Carlo Mateo.

In his video message, Enriquez thanked the alumni of the school for their trust.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako. Thank you very much, alumni of De La Salle University Dasmariñas lalo na ngayon, your grand alumni homecoming. Thank you very much sa mga awards: Best TV Male News Anchor para sa 24 Oras, Best AM Male News Anchor para sa Super Radyo dzBB," he said.

"Two thousand alumni ang bumoto. Thank you po. And thank you for supporting and for trusting the programs of your Kapuso Network, GMA. Salamat po. Maraming maraming salamat po! Animo La Salle!" Enriquez added.

Soho likewise expressed gratitude to all those who voted for her.

"Maraming maraming salamat po sa mga alumni ng De La Salle University Dasmariñas sa pagboto niyo po sa akin bilang Best TV Female News Anchor sa Animo Media Choice Awards 2019," she said.

"Maraming maraming salamat po sa pagpapahalaga na ibinibigay niyo sa amin sa araw-araw o gabi-gabing pagbibigay sa inyo ng serbisyong totoo lalo na tuwing may mga kalamidad at may mga pagkakataon na kailangang-kailangan pong ihatid natin kung ano ang totoo, hindi ho 'yung fake news, sa ating mga manonood," Soho added.

"Maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta sa SONA o State of the Nation. Maraming salamat, mga Kapuso!" she said.
