Family didn’t expect Eddie Garcia to pass away on Thursday, spokesman says

Eddie Garcia's loved ones didn't expect him to pass away on Thursday, his family's spokesman has said.

According to Nelson Canlas' report on "State of the Nation Address", Dr. Tony Rebosa said Garcia was still hanging on to life as of noontime on Thursday.

Rebosa said Garcia's partner Lilibeth Romero was with him when he breathed his last, which according to the Makati Medical Center's bulletin came at 4:55 p.m.

He said Romero was calmer now compared to how she was in the past days.

Rebosa said Romero knew that Garcia was now at peace and was no longer in pain.

A family member, Henry Vegas, said that Garcia wanted to be cremated, a wish that would probably be followed by the veteran actor's loved ones. —NB, GMA News
