GMA Network investigating absence of medical team at Eddie Garcia's taping

On Monday evening, GMA Network issued a new statement, saying it is currently investigating the absence of a medical team at Eddie Garcia's taping on Saturday. 

It has been the Network’s practice to have medical personnel and ambulance crew on standby whenever the production is executing big action scenes during taping. This has been likewise the practice of other GMA programs. Given this, we are currently investigating the absence of a medical team on the set last Saturday, June 8.

GMA Network is deeply saddened with what happened to Mr. Eddie Garcia and the management is committed to getting to the bottom of this unfortunate incident.

Earlier, GMA Network Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth Rasonable said the network was fully committed to getting to the bottom of what happened to the multi-awarded actor and director.

On Saturday, the 90-year-old actor was reported to have suffered a heart attack while taping for an upcoming GMA show.

On Sunday afternoon, his doctor clarified the actor was in critical condition due to severe cervical fracture, and not because of heart attack. — LA, GMA News
