Alfred Vargas wins his congressional bid in QC: 'Hinding hindi ko po ito babaliwalain'
Incumbent congressman Alfred Vargas has won another term as Quezon City's fifth district representative. He has been proclaimed on Tuesday morning.
He earned 132,047 votes, leading against his opponents including Lito Francisco, Rey Miranda, Joel Miranda, and Tol Francisco.
Vargas first became a public servant in 2010 when he was elected councilor in the 2nd District of Quezon City.
In 2013 he was elected as a congressman in the newly generated Fifth District of QC.
On his Instagram account, he posted a video of himself thanking all of his supporters and reassuring them of his good service as a public official.
Sa lahat po ng mga Novalenyo maraming maraming salamat po sa napakalaking tiwala at pagmamahal na muli ninyong binigay sa akin. Celebrities have been congratulating Vargas for his win on social media.
Iza Calzado, who was his co-star in the original Encantadia addressing him by his character name in the series, "Congratulations Aquil!!!!"
