7 things about Clint Bondad you need to know
Clint Bondad just signed a contract with GMA Network, officially becoming part of the Kapuso family.
Much has been said about Clint, given his, erm, history, but before we go any further, below are a few things about him we should probably get down pat.
1. He is of German descent. A lot of people can't guess his heritage, the Filipino-German admitted during an interview, post-signing.
"Parang sa Germany they ask, 'Hey, where are you from?' Sometimes from Spain, sometimes from Italy, sometimes from Middle East, sometimes Asian, marami."
But it's no biggie, Clint said. He thinks this as an advantage: he can't be limited to a specific role.
2. He moved out of his house when he was 16. According to Clint, he moved out of his house at age 16, and went to the Philippines with his mom at the age of 17.
He said, "Well dinala niya ako dito sa Pilipinas, and iniwan na niya ako dito."
3. He can understand Ilocano
At one point, Clint said that he lived with his uncle and aunt who only spoke Ilocano. From them, Clint learned the language and to this day, can understand and even casually speak Ilocano.
4. He gets life advice from Gabby Concepcion
Clint admitted that he gets life advice from his co-star Gabby Concepcion. From hydration to paths to success to even bits of personal advice, Clint says he's getting "lots of life advice" from the veteran actor.
5. He wants to keep working with Solenn Heusaff
Although Clint and Solenn are part of the same television show "Love You Two", Clint said he would love to be able to work with Solenn in the future.
The first time he met Solenn, Clint admitted that he was starstruck. Asked why he wanted to work with her, Clint answered, " She's really fun and super down-to-earth. 'Yung humor niya parang sa akin, parang weird and awkward humor."
6. He dreams of hosting a show on travel and experiences
Clint admitted that his dream project isn't to have a movie or star in his own teleserye. Instead, he wants to host a show that features sports, travel, and simply experiences. "Like 'Taste Buddies' but more on experiences," he says.
7. He still considers himself a businessman
While Clint says his real profession is still businessman, he admits it can get dry and very structured at times.
"Iniisip ko if wala akong showbiz, inaayos ko lang business ko, it's super boring at home," he says.
"'Yung showbiz, it's fun. It's like art eh. Di ba acting is art, hosting is art," he continues.
Although he has to juggle both his acting career and his many businesses, Clint said that good team building is the key.
"As a business owner, trabaho ko is not supposed to be managerial so much, but on decision-making. You cannot eventually manage it kasi mahirap mag-scale...mawawalan ka ng oras."
The new Kapuso is already starring in GMA's very first tele-pelikula "Love You Two" with Jennylyn Mercado and Gabby Concepcion. Already a regular guest in "Sunday Pinasaya". Clint is set to star in the upcoming film, "Kiko en Lala." — LA, GMA News
