Antoinette Taus is recovering after getting bitten by a dog in Baguio
Antoinette Taus took to Facebook to inform the public that she is currently confined in a hospital after getting bitten by a dog, a chow chow, at a wedding in Baguio.
According to her Facebook post, Antoinette suffered dog bites on “my left forearm, left thigh, and right breast…my left forearm suffered the worst and two took hours of surgery and suturing.”
While it sounded pretty gruesome and serious — “there was so fat hanging out of the wound and I could even see the tendon in my wrist,” the 38-year-old advocate described her wound — Antoinette shares there is no permanent damage “and no arteries or nerves were harmed.”
She added that while the dog that bit her is “perfectly fine,” she feels traumatized "especially by the chow chow breed."
Antoinette took the opportunity to apologize to her colleagues about missing work.
Before ending her update, Antoinette offered sound advice: “For those thinking of getting a dog, I have been told that chow chows are the number one breed known to be involved [in] dog bit cases…before buying expensive breeds, please give some thought to adopting dogs…please do consider adoption and give abandoned dogs a chance.”
