Melanie Marquez's advice to daughter Michelle Dee as she enters showbiz

Former beauty queen and actor Melanie Marquez has some advice for her daughter model Michelle Dee as she enters showbiz.

In an interview with Michelle at her contract signing on Monday, she shared with GMA News Online the advice her mom gave her. 

"Hestitant lang siya sa mga lalaki, kalma lang sa ano, maraming pogi diyan pero marami ring gag...," Michelle laughed as she narrated her mom's advice.

Other than that, the new Kapuso said Melanie trusts and supports her decisions. "She knows naman I have a good head on my shoulders, she trusts me with my decisions in life, my direction in life din, she's more of there to support my decisions pero obviously she warned me with the pros and cons of the show business and the industry," Michelle said.

She said Melanie was only shocked that she was doing it this soon, but that Michelle was able to defend it by saying this craft is one of her passions.

"I guess nagulat siya that I was doing it this soon, she wanted me to travel lang, experience life and I was like mom I really find that this is one of my passions."

If there's anything she had learned from her mom, she said it is to be confident in herself.

"Always be confident in yourself, don't feed it off of anyone because the best thing you can have for yourself is to invest in yourself and then other people will see it din, basically it's just confidence." — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
