Regine to 'Ignite' the stage in her first dance concert

Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, magkakaroon ng dance concert ang actress-host at Dance Diva na si Regine Tolentino.

Pinamagatang "Ignite: Regine Tolentino In Concert," ang naturang event ay preview ng na-achieve ni Regine sa kaniyang 23 taon sa showbiz.

"I have been preparing this like my whole life, so eto na 'yun. I never thought this is gonna happen but since nandito na 'yung opportunity gagalingan ko talaga and I'll make sure that you'll all enjoy. It's gonna be a one hot night for sure, we'll really set the night on fire," saad ni Regine sa press conference ng "Ignite" nitong Miyerkoles sa Quezon City.

Ikinuwento ni Regine kung bakit first time niyang gagawin ang dance concert sa kaniyang buhay.

"'Ignite' really started as a dream. I never had it in a million years. I'm really grateful today that this will happen because I used to be super scared of singing."

Ayon sa kaniya, nakatanggap siya noon ng matinding puna galing sa batikang composer na si Ryan Cayabyab sa kaniyang pagkanta noong nagsisimula pa siya sa showbiz, kaya may trauma siya rito.

Ngunit handang muling subukan ni Regine ang pagkanta.

"I wanted to prove to myself I can do this and here I am. So now that this is happening, the night is an explosion of talent, charisma and passion. It's sort of putting my 23 years in showbiz all at once."

"We're presenting something new and fierce and sexy and really entertaining from start to finish," dagdag pa ng beterang dancer, na isa ring fashion designer.

"Re-invention" din ito para kay Regine, at isa sa mga "pasabog" ng kaniyang buhay.

"I just feel like it's a new life for me... I call this sort of like a reinvention or a transformation from being a businesswoman and being a mommy and doing the homey stuff. Now I get to do something a little bit more fierce, like feeling diva, like feeling star talaga, may pasabog talaga. This concert is my pinakapasabog na next na gagawin ko sa buong buhay ko, so it's going to be very exciting."

Tungkol sa women empowerment din ang tema ng concert.

"I like to think of myself as a showgirl. You can be a showgirl at any age, and I just want to empower all women to feel like divas, like just feel great all the time," sabi ni Regine.

Makakasayaw ni Regine ang magagaling na Speed Dancers, at magiging panauhin din ang mga sexy niya ring kaibigan sa showbiz na sina Sheryl Cruz, Andrea Del Rosario, Patricia Javier, Madelle Paltu-ob, Ynez Veneracion, Gem Ramos, Cherry Lou, Sheree, Leah Patricio, Sheng Belmonte, Jenny Miller, Alyana Velasquez, Che Che Tolentino, April Tolentino, Luningning, Mariposa, Zara Lopez, Saicy Aguila, at Dasuri Choi.

May special participation din ng musical artist na si Thyro at dancer na si Zeus Collins.

Si Regine mismo ang nagdisensyo ng costumes ng Speed Dancers, kasama ang stylist na si Neil Lorenzo. Six months in the making ang paggawa nito.

"We'll have really great production numbers, really sexy, we'll do diva stuff, we'll do showgirl, we're gonna do some theatrical stuff and it's gonna be fun and lively and you'll see a lot of skin. This is the fiercest and sexiest I have ever been and so I'm super proud because I worked very hard to make this happen," saad ni Regine.
