Celine Dion to hold concert in Manila for her 2018 Asia-Pacific Tour
For the first time ever, French-Canadian superstar Celine Dion will finally be holding a concert in Manila on July 19 as part of her Asia-Pacific regional tour for 2018.
In her Facebook post dated January 12, the "My Heart Will Go On" singer said she will be playing some countries for the tour in June, July, and August.
"New Year, new tour! I am thrilled to announce that I'll be touring the Asia-Pacific region this summer... I can't wait to perform for you."
She said she will be returning to Japan — where her tour kicks off — and Macau after 10 years, while it will be her first time singing in the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand.

‘Queen of movie themes’
Dion was supposed to hold a concert in the Philippines in 2014 but had to cancel at the last minute to care for her then ailing husband-manager, Rene Angelil, who eventually succumbed to cancer. Two days later, one of Dion's brothers also died from cancer.
Regarded by many as the "Queen of Movie Themes," Dion is the voice behind "My Heart Will Go On" (from "Titanic"), "Beauty and the Beast," "Because You Loved Me" (from "Up Close and Personal"), "When I Fall In Love" (from "Sleepless in Seattle"), "I'm Alive" (from "Stuart Little 2"), and "The Prayer" (her duet with Andrea Bocelli from the animated film "The Magic Sword").
Her other well-loved hits include "The Power of Love," "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," "All By Myself," "Tell Him" (with Barbra Streisand), "That's The Way It Is," "I'm Your Angel" (with R&B singer R. Kelly), "If You Asked Me To," "Immortality," and "To Love Your More," which was famously covered by Sarah Geronimo.
Some of her songs that were never commercially released in other countries but became hits in the Philippines include "I Love You, Goodbye" and "I Love You."
Dion is a five-time Grammy winner and her songs have won the Academy Awards twice for Best Original Song. She has received 12 World Music Awards, 20 Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys), and 43 Félix Awards.
She was given the Chopard Diamond Award at the 2004 World Music Awards in recognition of her status as the best-selling female artist of all-time. In 2016, she was the recipient of the coveted Billboard Icon Award.
Dion continues to break records with her ongoing Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace which has played over 1,000 shows to more than four million fans. —Jamil Joseph Santos/LBG/MDM, GMA News
