Michael V shares how 'Bubble Gang' sustains and maintains the laughs after all these years

Bubble Gang is celebrating its 22nd anniversary with a musical gag show "Parokya Bente Dos: A Laugh Story", and at its press conference on Monday,  creative director Michael V. shared the secret on how they are able to sustain their creativity and laughs all these 22 years. 

"Siguro 'yong dedication sa trabaho. Pati 'yong society rin, [kasi] habang nagbabago 'yong society, parang meron kaming puwedeng ayain [and] at the same time, kami puweding ayain ng society; magandang relationship ng audience sa show. 'Yong show tinutulungan ng audience, at the same time 'yong audience tinutulungan ng show. 'Yun po ang secret ng show."

Another thing that helped them stay as a group is their drive to enjoy every moment in the show. Bitoy said the ratings followed when they started to have fun.

"Wala eh, siguro nung umpisa, kasi nung una ang drive namin n'on ay ang rates hindi mag-enjoy. Mula nung naging drive namin ang mag-enjoy, sumunod na 'yong ratings."

Aside from the dedication and enjoyment, the group also put in hard work to every sketch, gag and script. They don't stop with the efforts on improving their show, taking opinion from the cast and crew.

"Palagi, every year, is a challenge. Every sketch, every gag, challenge palagi yun kaya hindi rin kami tumitigil sa script n'on eh. Minsan may mga dadagdag na artista may idadagdag 'yung director, kahit 'yung maliliit na tao, 'yung mga idea nanggagaling sa kanila kaya talagang di kami naggive up."

Bitoy also said every member of Bubble Gang fits their group perfectly.

"Hindi basta-basta makakapasok kung hindi swak sa Bubble Gang, so sa ngayon, as you can see swak ang lahat kaya walang naging problema." — LA, GMA News

"Parokya Bente Dos: A Laugh Story" will be a two-part TV special which will be aired on November 17 and 24.
