Lotlot de Leon dedicates sweet birthday message to daughter Janine Gutierrez on Instagram
Veteran actress Lotlot de Leon took to Instagram to dedicate a sweet birthday message to her daughter Janine Gutierrez, who is turning 28 today, October 2.
Lotlot posted a photo of her side-by-side with her daughter Janine, and on the caption she revealed that she had wanted to protect her children, including Janine, from all of the criticisms that comes with being in show business.
"My darling daughter, all my life I have protected you and your siblings, made sure you were far from the limelight because I didn’t want you to go through all the criticisms that an artist/family of actors go through..I wanted you to have a “normal life” as a kid should have and finish your studies..6 years ago after you graduated you told me you wanted to try the business and I was hesitant I was scared for you. I didn’t want you to get hurt. Yun ang unang pumasok sa isip ko..siempre may mga papuri pero paano kung masaktan ka din," she wrote on Instagram.
But Janine's eagerness and willingness to learn and join the showbiz industry earned Lotlot's nod, but with one condition: that she gets to manager her daughter.
"I felt that if I was there beside you, guiding you, it will be easier. I can look out for you. Pag dating sa usapang trabaho, I was your manager first and set aside being your mom. Being your first critic before anyone else. I would tell you to always take your job seriously, ilagay mo sa puso mo," Lotlot continued.
De Leon admitted that she had to show Janine some tough love when it comes to work.

I know there were times that maybe you longed for my approval for some projects that you made but instead I pressured you to become better. I had to be tough with you. She ended her message by praising her daughter and telling her how proud she is of how much Janine has achieved, mentioning her nominations and acting award.
"Now anak, I see it. All the hard work, the love you have for your chosen craft and I would like you to know how proud I am of you. How you’ve grown to love your work. How you’ve also achieved so much. You have nominations already and even won an acting award! So babe, I wish you nothing but the best and just keep on following your dreams! You’re a beautiful person inside out. Now with Leo by your side, and me going back to being your mom, I know that there will be greater things in store for you..Fly high baby girl! I love you! Happy happy birthday!"
