‘Tiger Mom’ Kris Aquino shields son Bimby from 'foul' headline
Lay off Kris Aquino's children.
At least, don't write anything about them that's unverified.
Thats exactly what drove Kris to social media on Tuesday, to protest what she described as a "foul and uncalled for" headline written about her son, James Carlos "Bimby" Aquino Yap, Jr. by showbiz columnist Ricky Lo.
The article focused on Bimby's absence at the birthday party of his half-brother Michael James (MJ), James Yap's son with his second wife Michela Cazzola.
The Queen of All Media raised some points that she said "any parent, whether celebrity or private citizen can identify with especially when navigating the difficult road of moving forward, being positive and trying our best to be mature for a healthy environment for our children."
Kris said that the headline, "Bimb no-show at MJ's party", stirred unnecessary drama between the children and stooped to a "teleserye-like" low.
"Most importantly, why bring "intrigue" on a 10 year old boy who has never done you any harm? I believe it's time to review Republic Act No. 7610 signed by the 9th Congress from June 17, 1992: AN ACT PROVIDING FOR STRONGER DETERRENCE AND SPECIAL PROTECTION AGAINST CHILD ABUSE, EXPLOITATION AND DISCRIMINATION, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES," Kris added.
The actress said she was angered when Lo did not try to get her side of the story, despite having direct communication with her family; she said a simple call would have saved everyone from the intriguing headline.
Kris also added that the article did not contribute to the a better relationship between her and Michela.

"When 2 mothers are living peaceful lives & communicating privately because it is in the best interest of their sons, why do you make that hard to maintain because now we have no choice but to post in order for our children to be seen in the right light?" Kris' statement continued.
She added the act of writing something "unverified" which put her son in a bad light unleashed the "tiger mom" in her.
"Touch me & you won't get a reaction- I think I've proven that countless times. But write something unverified and meant to put my son in a bad light & you unleash the TIGER MOM in me. I know you are much older & I should be respectful BUT PLEASE RESPECT my rights as a MOTHER," Kris wrote.
Aquino first met Cazzola in October 2016 when she and her son Bimby visited James and Mic's baby MJ.
GMA News Online reached out to Ricky Lo, but has not received a response. PEP.ph similarly sought Lo's reaction, but the columnist reportedly declined to comment.
