Jennylyn mourns as Mommy Lydia cremated

The remains of Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado's adoptive mother, Lydia, has been cremated on Monday afternoon after her death due to sepsis secondary to pneumonia, a report from Lhar Santiago on 24 Oras said.

Jennylyn declined to grant a television interview as she privately mourned the death of Mommy Lydia.

The Ultimate Star said to GMA News she is still emotionally incapable of speaking in front of the camera two days after Mommy Lydia's death on Saturday at the intensive care unit.

The urn of Mommy Lydia, 74, was brought to the St. Peter Columbarium where the ashes of her husband, Roger Mercado, also lie.

The report said Jennylyn's rumored boyfriend, Dennis Trillo, has been accompanying her throughout her mourning.

Mommy Lydia stood as Jennylyn's mother since her childhood, beyond her winning as Starstruck Season 1's Ultimate Female Survivor, and even shared the responsibility of caring for her son, Alex Jazz.

Showbiz media referred to Mommy Lydia as one of their favorite parents of celebrities because of her jovial personality with people in the industry. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/JST, GMA News
