Why Christian Bautista decided to remain a Kapuso

Hindi raw nagdalawang-isip ang Kapuso singer-actor na si Christian Bautista na manatili sa Kapuso Network, aniya sa panayam ng GMA News at iba pang miyembro ng press sa naganap na contract signing nitong Huwebes.

Bukod sa pagiging balladeer, nakilala na rin si Christian bilang isang aktor at host, at nagpapasalamat umano siya sa GMA sa pagiging daan upang mahasa ang kaniyang mga talento.

“Walang second thought... I just want to expand my acting and hosting in this channel. And I think I can grow those skills very well here. Mas maraming opportunities to grow, and more opprtunities to work,” aniya.

Kabilang sa mga pinagbibidahang programa ngayon ni Christian ang makabagong remake at retelling ng hit Kapuso fantasy series na “Encantadia.”

Gumaganap siya rito bilang Apitong, at isa nga raw ang malaking proyektong ito sa mga nagtulak sa kaniya upang manatili sa Kapuso Network.

Pagbabahagi ni Christian, “'Encantadia' is my deciding factor. The strategy is this way: Do more TV acting and sing outside. I have a great exposure now sa Primetime. So I do the mall shows, the corporate shows. That's the strategy ngayon.”

“I'm are happy wherever I are. I should be. 'Yung quote na laging pumapasok sa isip ko ngayon is 'It's not always greener on the other side. It's greener where you water it.' So, cultivate where you are than looking on the other side,” dagdag pa ng Kapuso singer-actor.

Aminado si Christian na hindi naging madali ang pinagdaanan niya upang mapabilang sa itinuturing na isa sa pinakalamalaking proyekto ng GMA ngayong taon.

Tulad raw ng buong cast, kinailangan niyang dumaan sa matinding auditions at acting workshops.

Kuwento niya, “I really had to do my best sa auditions to fit the role, to want it. I think the whole GMA wanted to be a part of that show. There are more guests coming, more twists, more storylines.”

“Everyone had to go through a process. Everyone had to fit the part. Ako naman, I've been through lot of auditions lately, whether for musicals, commercials. It's more fulfilling if you get something through an audition,” dagdag pa ni Christian.

Kasabay ng muling pagpirma ng kontrata ni Christian sa GMA Network, nakatakda rin siyang magsilbing host sa pinakabagong Kapuso talent show.

“It's good to be with great people, great family, great support group. The last few years have been amazing—expanding and building my talent in acting, hosting... Things are rolling, the engines are heating up,” aniya. —JST, GMA News
