Lea Salonga, Brad Kane sing Aladdin song on Good Morning America


(Updated 11:08 a.m.) Lea Salonga wowed television audiences when she sang "A Whole New World" live on Good Morning America with original cast member Brad Kane on Friday.

Salonga and Kane originally sang the hit song in the Disney movie "Aladdin" released in November 1992. Salonga sang as Jasmine, while Kane sang as Aladdin.

Kane was all praises for Salonga after their performance.


Salonga meanwhile posted a photo of her with Linda Larkin, the actress who voiced Jasmine in "Aladdin."

The song "A Whole New World" garnered a number of awards in the 90s, among them the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1994.

It also bagged the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1993, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in 1993, and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 1994.

The song was also nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Best Song from a Movie.
