Willie Revillame to release album of love songs under GMA Records

Willie Revillame will no longer be just a Kapuso game show host.

 

After signing a deal with GMA Records on Friday, the TV host is going to release a new album 

 

But instead of his usual novelty dance tunes, he will be singing about love in his new ballads. 

 

"We already have an album. Ang composers nito of course iyong mga living legend sa pagdating sa love songs: Vehnee Saturno, ang carrier single nito ay 'Nandoon Ako'; Ogie Alcasid, 'Akala Ko'; Lito Camo, 'Ganyan Ako'," he said. 

 

Also at the contract signing were GMA Records managing director Rene Salta, GMA Records EVP and COO Felipe S. Yalong, and Revillame's album producer Vehnee Saturno. 

 

"Itong mga songs na ito, matagal na ito eh, nakatago. Noong nag-stop ako sa dating show, so gumawa kami ng songs. It's the right time [to release them]... At ito na ang tamang panahon sa GMA Records. Right time, right songs, right people," added Revillame. 

 

Revillame said that the album's first single, "Nandoon Ako," is a ballad perfect for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) or those who are away from their loved ones. 

 

"Ang spirit nito, lahat ng pagmamahal, nandoon siya. Kahit anong mangyari. Kahit may unos pa man o bagyo," he said. 

 

Meanwhile, Alcasid's song is about giving all your heart to someone you love. 

 

Revillame added that the album features a bonus instrumental track that brides can use as their bridal march. 

 

The TV host and GMA Records are yet to set a release date of the album. But Revillame said he has been singing his carrier single, "Nandoon Ako" in his Sunday afternoon game show "WowoWin" on GMA-7. —JST, GMA News
