Manila suspends classes in public schools on Oct. 4 for World Teachers’ Day
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Thursday announced that classes in all public schools in the city are suspended on Friday, October 4 in celebration of World Teachers’ Day.
The suspension covers classes in all public daycare centers, elementary schools, and high schools, as well as classes at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila.
“Executive Order No. 33 was signed by the mayor on October 3 to give recognition to the efforts of public school teachers in the city and to give them a wellness day,” the announcement read.
“Teachers are requested to provide activity sheets or modules for the intended lesson on that day.”
The city government is also encouraging private schools in the area “to give the same honor to their faculty.” —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
