Class suspensions for Monday, April 8, 2024
Face-to-face classes on Monday, April 8, 2024, have been suspended in some areas due to extreme heat.
Other teaching strategies, such as modular and online instruction, have been employed to minimize disruption to students' education.
Below are the class suspensions and changes in schedules for Monday, April 8, 2024:
Metro Manila
Caloocan City:
- daycare or Early Childhood Care Development: center-based program in alternative venue from April 8 to 12;
- kinder to senior high school, single shift, morning classes, April 8 to 12: face-to-face classes to be held 6AM to 11:30AM on Monday and Tuesday, asynchronous on Wednesday and Thursday; and face-to-face classes from 6AM to 9AM on Friday
- kinder to senior high school, afternoon classes, April 8 to 12: asynchronous on Monday and Tuesday; face-to-face classes from 6AM to 11:30AM on Wednesday and Thursday; and face-to-face classes from 9AM to 12NN on Friday
- private schools: decision to suspend classes or hold alternative modes of learning will be up to the school administration
- University of Caloocan: Colleges of Education, Liberal Arts, Criminology, and Business and Accountancy as well as Graduate School to have online classes from April 8 to 14; College of Law classes, all on-the-job training for all courses and in-campus extra-curricular activities to be conducted face-to-face from April 8 to 14
Makati City: shortened schedule: 6AM to 10AM for morning shifts, and 3:30PM to 7:30PM for afternoon shifts
Universidad de Manila: classes will be in online mode; face-to-face classes to resume on April 11
Marikina City: in-person classes at all levels, private and public suspended; asynchronous learning to be implemented instead
Provinces
Bohol Island State University: face-to-face classes across all campuses are suspended from April 8 until further notice
Bulacan: online classes to be conducted in all levels, public and private
Cebu Normal University: Classes for ILS, College, and Graduate School including the external campuses will be through online modality from April 4 to 12.
Cebu Province: all classes suspended
Negros Oriental: face-to-face classes suspended in all levels, public and private
Basista, Pangasinan: face-to-face classes suspended; modular distance learning will instead be conducted in public and private schools for daycare to senior high school
