Iloilo City suspends face-to-face classes for April 1 and 2, 2024

Face-to-face classes for senior high school and lower grades in Iloilo City have been suspended for Monday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 2 due to "high heat conditions."

In an executive order that was also posted to his social media account, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas declared the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school, in both public and private schools, in the city on Monday and Tuesday, "unless otherwise extended or lifted earlier."

The order added that "[d]ue to the high heat conditions caused by the summer season and El Nino, school heads are enjoined to implement appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of students and staff within school premises, which includes adoption of alternative learning delivery modes in view of the face-to-face classes." — BM, GMA Integrated News
