Work in public, private offices in QC suspended on August 19 for Quezon Day

All government and private offices in Quezon City will be closed on Friday in observance of former President Manuel Quezon's 144th birth anniversary.

In a statement on Thursday, the city government said that Republic Act 6741 designated August 19 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the provinces of Quezon and Aurora as well as in Quezon City.

However, work will continue for those employed in essential services, including law enforcement, traffic management, fire protection, health and rescue, as well as disaster response and management.

The operations of QCity bus service will also be suspended on Friday.
