WALANG PASOK: Dagupan suspends classes on July 27, 2015 in elementary, HS for Iglesia anniversary
Classes in the elementary and high school levels were suspended in Dagupan City on Monday due to the 101st anniversary of the Iglesia ni Cristo.
Mayor Belen Fernandez announced the suspension of classes on her Facebook page. She said the suspension covers public and private schools.
"In commemoration of the 101st anniversary of the Iglesia ni Cristo, there will be no classes for elementary and high school, both public and private, [on] July 27, 2015," she said.
Fernandez, meanwhile, clarified that all teaching and non-teaching personnel shall report for work on Monday.
Classes were also suspended at all levels in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Monday for the Iglesia ni Cristo anniversary.
On Sunday, members of the religious organization flocked to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan to join the celebrations for their anniversary.
The event caused a major traffic jam in parts of the North Luzon Expressway. — Joel Locsin/ALG, GMA News
