PNR’s Naga–Lupi Viejo route in CamSur to begin operating Nov. 5, 2025

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) will begin operating the Naga–Lupi Viejo route in Camarines Sur on November 5, 2025, in the government’s effort to revive train services from the province to Quezon.

According to PNR general manager Deovanni Miranda, the route only takes an hour and 39 minutes, compared to the almost two-hour travel time for other modes of transportation.

“Tuloy-tuloy po ang ating pagsasaayos sa mga imprastraktura ng PNR, para rin po makapaghatid pa tayo ng mura, ligtas, at maayos na pampublikong transportasyon sa mas maraming komyuter,” Miranda said.

(We are continuously improving the infrastructure of the PNR so that we can provide affordable, safe, and efficient public transportation to more commuters.)

The stations in the Naga–Lupi Viejo route are Lupi Viejo in Lupi, Sipocot, Libmanan, Pamplona, and Naga. The route travels from Naga to Lupi Viejo and back again.

PNR will also serve commuters in flag stops in Lupi Nuevo/Tapi, Malaguico, Azucena, Awayan, Mantalisay, Camambugan, Rongos, Malansad, Mambulo, Borabod, at Sampaloc.

There will be three trips from Naga to Lupi Viejo and another three from Lupi Viejo to Naga, starting at the following times:

  • Naga to Lupi Viejo: 4:29 a.m., 9:49 a.m., and 3:14 p.m.
  • Lupi Viejo to Naga: 6:23 a.m., 11:43 a.m., and 5:08 p.m.

Train fare will range from P15 to P75, while students, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens will have discounted fares of P12 to P60.
