MMDA: Mindanao Avenue underpass partially closed for weekend road works
The northbound section of the Mindanao Avenue underpass in Quezon City has been partially closed this weekend, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced.
The partial road closure started on Friday evening, August 1, and will last until 5 a.m. Monday, August 4, the MMDA said. This will pave the way for concrete reblocking activities in the area.
In its advisory, the MMDA said vehicular traffic closures on weekends will alternate between northbound and southbound lanes.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes.
Earlier, the government said parts of Mindanao Avenue would be closed to traffic starting June 29 to make way for the construction of the Tandang Sora Station of the Metro Manila Subway project.
Meanwhile, the Quezon City (QC) government issued a separate advisory regarding the expected traffic in Congressional Avenue towards Mindanao Avenue due to the road works this weekend.
As an alternate route, the QC advisory read, motorists may take Congressional Avenue going to Luzon Avenue or EDSA-Muñoz.
