Makati City suspends number coding on July 24, 2024

The Makati City government on Wednesday suspended the number coding in its area due to the heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Carina.

"CODING ADVISORY: Please be advised that the number coding is suspended today, July 24, 2024, due to possible effects of Typhoon #CarinaPH #MakatiTraffic," the local government unit said in a post on X past 9 a.m.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) earlier announced that the expanded number coding scheme in Metro Manila is suspended on Wednesday.

Typhoon Carina intensified and continued to enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) on Wednesday.

Several areas in Metro Manila were flooded. —KG, GMA Integrated News
