LRT-2, MRT-3 to offer seamen free rides on Seafarers Day

In commemoration of the Day of the Filipino Seafarer, several train systems will offer seamen free rides on Tuesday, June 25.

According to the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will offer free rides to seafarers from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 (MRT-3) will likewise provide free rides from 5:30 a.m. until the end of its operating hours.

"Pinapaalalahan po ang lahat ng marino na ipakita lamang ang inyong valid na Seafarer’s Record Book, Seafarer’s Identity Document, o kaya’y Seafarer’s Identification Booklet para makapag-avail ng libreng sakay," Marina said.

(Seafarers are reminded to bring their Seafarer’s Record Book, Seafarer’s Identity Document, or Seafarer’s Identification Booklet to avail of the free service.)  — DVM, GMA Integrated News
