MMDA announces road closures for Independence Day

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Saturday announced anticipated road closures for the Independence Day Celebration on June 12, 2024.

In a Facebook post, MMDA said that the following roads will be closed on Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on June 12:

• Roxas Boulevard – both sides from TM Kalaw to P. Burgos
• TM Kalaw – from Ma. Orosa to Roxas Boulevard westbound

The following roads will also be closed from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.:

• Roxas Boulevard – both sides of UN Avenue to P. Burgos Avenue 
• TM Kalaw – both sides of Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue
• P. Burgos Avenue – both sides of Finance Road
• Bonifacio Drive – from Anda Circle to P. Burgos Avenue

“Adjacent roads within Rizal Park and Quirino Grandstand will also be utilized for the occasion,” the MMDA said.

Meanwhile, the following alternate routes have been provided for motorists affected by the aforementioned closures:

·FOR PUV and PRIVATE VEHICLES GOING NORTH: Roxas Boulevard right turn to Quirino Avenue or U.N. Avenue then left turn to Taft Avenue to destination

·FOR PRIVATE VEHICLES: From R-10 going to Anda Circle, turn left to Soriano Avenue, turn right to Solana Street, turn left to Muralla Street, then go straight to Magallanes Drive, turn right to P. Burgos Avenue to your destination.

·FOR TRUCKS GOING NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND: SLEX, Osmeña Highway, Quirino Avenue, Nagtahan Street, Lacson Avenue, Yuseco Street, Capulong Street, R-10 Road, to your destination.

A total of 1,156 personnel will be stationed in several locations to assist motorists and other road users, while the necessary resources will be dispatched in strategic areas for safety.
