DOTr: Heavy traffic from Feb. 2-5 due to Metro Manila subway project

The Department of Transportation, on Tuesday, warned of possible traffic slowdown on some roads in Metro Manila due to the transportation of the Metro Manila Subway Project’s (MMSP's) Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) at D. Julia Vargas Avenue. 

According to a DOTr Facebook post, traffic may be heavy in the following areas from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on February 2 to 3 and February 4 to 5:

• 5th Avenue (between 11 p.m. to 12 midnight)
• Araneta Avenue (between 1 a.m. to 2 a.m)
• Ortigas Avenue – C5 Road (between 2:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m)
• Doña Julia Vargas Avenue (between 3:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m)

The TBM will be used in the construction of the tunnels that would connect the MMSP’s Ortigas Avenue Station, Shaw Boulevard Station, and Kalayaan Avenue Station. 

Motorists were advised to pass through alternate routes on the said dates and schedules. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
