Katipunan Avenue southbound zipper lane dry run starts October 2, 2023
Motorists using the southbound lane of Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City may take the zipper lane during morning rush hours starting Monday, October 2, 2023.
The Quezon City Government announced that the zipper lane will be open to motorists from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays.
The zipper lane will be on dry run, to be implemented by the Quezon City local government unit and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Its aim is to lessen the volume of vehicles using the southbound lane of Katipunan Avenue in front of Miriam College, the LGU said in a post on Facebook.
Motorists may enter the zipper lane at the U-turn slot in front of UP Town Center-Mercury Drug.
The zipper lane has two exits: one is in front of La Vista Subdivision gate on Mangyan Street going to Miriam College Gates 5 and 6; while the other one is in front of Miriam College Gate 3 on Katipunan Avenue.
The LGU and MMDA will deploy traffic enforcers and install traffic directional signages to guide motorists. —KG, GMA Integrated News
