PNR to have special trips on Nov. 1, 2022; full ops not yet possible due to Paeng

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) announced it will have special trips on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, as it cannot offer full service yet following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

PNR said the special trips will be for areas assessed to be safe for trains to pass through.

"Humihingi po kami ng pang-unawa na hindi pa po maaaring manumbalik ang serbisyo sa lahat ng ruta at istasyon," PNR said in a post on Facebook on Monday night.

(We ask for understanding since services have yet to return to normal in all routes and stations.)

"Ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at publiko ang aming prayoridad," it added.

(The safety of passengers and the public is our priority.)

On Saturday, PNR canceled all trips as Paeng flooded many areas.

It likewise canceled all trips on Sunday as the railway management said it needed to conduct inspection of its railways to see if the storm caused damage on the tracks.

Some tracks were indeed found damaged such as those in Sipocot, Camarines Sur; Libmanan, Camarines Sur; Biñan to Calamba; and San Pablo to Lucena.

Paeng also damaged the bridge in Tabag in Barangay Bucal, Sariaya, Quezon which is used by PNR.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, PNR will operate the following routes:
