Cebu Pacific cancels flights due to tropical storm


The expected onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Odette has prompted Cebu Pacific to cancel some of its domestic flights, the budget carrier said on Tuesday.

In a statement, Cebu Pacific said the following CebGo flights dated December 16 are suspended:

  • DG 6839/ DG 6840 Manila – Siargao – Manila
  • DG 6881/ DG 6882 Manila – Surigao – Manila
  • DG 6851/ DG 6852 Cebu – Siargao – Cebu

Those affected in the disruption of flights may select their preferred option through the Manage Booking portal on the Cebu Pacific website (http://bit.ly/CEBmanageflight) until 30 days from date of departure: 

1. Rebook

Rebook for travel within 60 days at no additional cost, following CEB’s permanent removal of change fees. Fare difference waived. 

2. Travel Fund 

Store the amount in a virtual CEB wallet valid for two (2) years and use this to either book a new flight or pay for add-ons (e.g. baggage allowance, seat selection, etc.) 

3. Refund 

The process may take up to two (2) months from the date of request.

Meanwhile, the airline management also said some flights are allowed to operate but passengers may voluntarily postpone their flights.

Cebu Pacific is offering flexible options for the following routes:

December 16, 2021 (Thursday)

  • Cebu – Butuan – Cebu
  • Manila – Butuan – Manila
  • Manila – Boracay – Manila

December 17, 2021 (Friday) 

  • Cebu – Butuan – Cebu
  • Cebu – Cagayan de Oro – Cebu
  • Cebu – Dipolog – Cebu
  • Cebu – Davao – Cebu
  • Cebu – Siargao – Cebu
  • Cebu – Boracay (Caticlan) – Cebu
  • Cebu – Ozamiz – Cebu
  • Cebu – Pagadian – Cebu
  • Cebu – Tacloban – Cebu
  • Manila – Bacolod – Manila
  • Manila – Cebu – Manila
  • Manila – Dumaguete – Manila
  • Manila – Siargao – Manila
  • Manila – Iloilo – Manila
  • Manila – Kalibo – Manila
  • Manila – Boracay (Caticlan) – Manila
  • Manila – Surigao – Manila
  • Manila – Tacloban – Manila
  • Manila – Bohol – Manila

The affected passengers may cancel up to two hours before their scheduled departure and select their preferred option through the Manage Booking portal on the Cebu Pacific website.

"This is a developing situation. More flight changes may take place in the coming days," Cebu Pacific also said.

Odette entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and is expected to bring rains over Visayas and Mindanao areas. -- Consuelo Marquez/BAP, GMA News
