CAAP issues advisory suspending commercial flights in NAIA, 8 other airports for 1 week


The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on Sunday suspending flights, both domestic and international, passenger and commercial, to and from the Philippines covering nine airports starting May 3 at 8 a.m.

The suspension of flights will be for a week.

CAAP issued the NOTAM after National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer and Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. requested the Department of Transportation to suspend the flight.

The nine airports covered by the NOTAM are the following:

  1. Ninoy Aquino International Airport
  2. Davao International Airport
  3. Clark International Airport
  4. Iloilo International Airport
  5. Mactan-Cebu International Airport
  6. Zamboanga International Airport
  7. Kalibo International Airport
  8. Laoag International Airport
  9. Puerto Princesa International Airport

 

CAAP said cargo flights, sweeper flights, medical flights, utility flights, and maintenance flights will continue.

The Manila International Airport on Saturday said passenger and commercial flights to and from the Philippines will be temporarily suspended starting 8 a.m. of Sunday, May 3—KG, GMA News
