AirAsia announces cancelled, rescheduled flights due to Ursula

Due to Typhoon Ursula (int. name Phanfone), low-cost carrier firm AirAsia announced on Tuesday evening that it will be canceling and rescheduling several domestic and international flights, according to a travel advisory.

Below are the affected flights on December 24 and 25:

AirAsia urged guests who would be travelling over the next few days to check their flight status at airasia.com/flightstatus for more updates.

The airline also said that it has notified all affected passengers through e-mail and text.

For those whose flights have been cancelled or delayed for more than three hours, they may avail one of the following:

1. Move flight: A one-time flight change to a new travel date on the same route within 30 calendar days from the original flight time, at no additional cost. This is subject to the availability of seats.

2. Credit account: Guests can retain the value of their fare in their AirAsia BIG Loyalty account for future travel. The online credit account must be redeemed for booking within 90 days from the issued travel date. According to the film, the actual travel dates can be scheduled after the expiry date as long as the flight schedules are out

3. Full Refund: Obtain a full refund in the amount equivalent to your booking in the form of original payment.

AirAsia said that refund requests can be made with AVA at support.airasia.com.

"Refunds for bookings made through travel agents including online travel agents must be done via travel agents from which the booking was made," the firm said. —Angelica Yang/LDF, GMA News
