Over 100k Manila Water customers in Mandaluyong to face 9-hour service interruption next week


Over 100,000 customers of Manila Water Company Inc. are set to experience a nine-hour service interruption next week, as the company will undertake pipe interconnection activities in Mandaluyong City.

In an advisory, Manila Water said the service interruption will start 9 p.m. Monday, July 27 and will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 28.

It will affect 115,000 customers in 22,296 households, commercial, and business establishments in nine barangays in Mandaluyong City.

The affected barangays are Addition Hills, Hagdang Bato Libis (Clairmont), Highway Hills, Malamig, Mauway, Plainview, Pleasant Hills, San Jose (Sitio 4), Wack-Wack Greenhills East.

"Manila Water is advising residents of the said barangays to store enough water to supply their needs during the interruption period," it said.

"After service is restored, customers are advised to allow a few minutes for flushing before using the water from their taps," it added.

Manila Water is the east zone concessionaire which services 23 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila and Rizal.

These include Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and parts of Quezon City and Manila.

The towns of Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, Tanay, Taytay, Teresa, San Mateo and Antipolo in the province of Rizal are also part of the East Zone. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/RSJ, GMA News
