50°C heat index predicted in Laguna area on Wednesday, April 16, 2025

A 50°C heat index is expected to hit NAS-UPLB, Los Baños, Laguna on Wednesday, PAGASA said in a forecast.

According to its 5 p.m. April 15 bulletin, the state weather bureau said NAS-UPLB is one of the 18 areas that could experience a “danger level” heat index. The same area also experienced a heat index of 50°C on Tuesday.

A heat index of 47°C is expected in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.

Meanwhile, these synoptic stations could measure a 44°C heat index:

• Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac City
• Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite
• Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas

PAGASA also said the following areas could reach a temperature of 43°C:

• ISU Echague, Isabela
• Baler (Radar), Aurora
• Catarman, Northern Samar

The following areas could reach up to 42°C heat:

• NAIA, Pasay City
• Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
• Iba, Zambales
• Clark Airport (DMIA), Pampanga
• Coron, Palawan
• San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
• CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur
• Roxas City, Capiz
• Iloilo City, Iloilo
• Dumangas, Iloilo

PAGASA categorizes areas with 42°C to 51°C heat index under the danger category, while areas with 52°C and above fall under extreme danger.

Heat stroke is imminent in areas under extreme danger, while heat cramps, exhaustion, and heat stroke are probable risks under the danger level.
