‘Danger level’ heat index to hit 2 areas on March 25, 2025 —PAGASA

Two areas in the country are expected to experience “danger level” heat index on Tuesday, March 25, according to a PAGASA forecast on Monday.

Based on its 5 p.m. March 24 bulletin, the state weather bureau said Dagupan City, Pangasinan will be facing a heat index of 43°C.

Meanwhile, CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur could reach up to 42°C.

A temperature between 42°C and 51°C is considered in the “danger” category, posing health risks such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

In Metro Manila, a high of 38°C is expected to hit NAIA Pasay City while Science Garden, Quezon City could reach up to 36°C.

A heat index from 33°C to 41°C is under the “extreme caution” category, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, and continuing activity could lead to heat stroke.

The heat index measures how hot it feels to the human body, factoring in humidity along with the actual air temperature.

PAGASA earlier said the dry season in 2025 will likely not be as hot when compared to the same period in 2024, but the public should still take precautions over the high heat index. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
