ITCZ to bring more rain over southern Mindanao

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring scattered rains over southern Mindanao in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the affected areas are the Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, and Palawan.

These moderate to at times rainfall may cause flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will persist over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

Metro Manila and the rest of the country oculd experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods and landslides.

State meteorologists also said the eastern section of the country will experience moderate wind and coastal water conditions.

Meanwhile, winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:57 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
